MM Hire Nottingham joined the Mini Marquee Hire group in August 2008 after Craig Maddox, who has been involved in the Marquee Industry for over 15 years, noticed that the new Premium and Maxi range marquees produced by his employer were more than up to the job of being set up and left for a number of days without the need to worry if they would still be there when we returned to collect them.
As operations manager of Mini Marquees Ltd, Craig was receiving a high number of calls asking if the units were available to hire which made him realise that there was a large demand for people wanting to hire a top quality marquee for their events rather than buying their own “cheap and nasty” pop up gazebo which more often than not leads to a whole load of nasty surprises.
The rest as they say is history and MM Hire Ltd was born.
Very quickly the MM Hire team realised this was potentially a very large market, much bigger than could be carried out from Head Office and far bigger than Craig had initially imagined, the only way this could be managed / operated properly was to divide the country up into areas with each area carrying their own stock and organising their own assembly and dismantle times.
For a number of reasons the decision was made for all the enquiries, bookings and payments to be undertaken from head office with the booking details then sent to the local operator who then becomes the customers point of contact. Working this way means Craig and the team in Nottingham maintain regular contact with the operators who provide feedback and suggestions for new products, alterations / modifications needed to the product as well as customer feedback. It also eliminates the opportunity for double booking of kit and or operators providing customers with sub standard units or doing “cash jobs” which wouldn’t be covered by the necessary insurances.
MM Hire currently have £5,000,000 public liability insurance.
